Date night!

Momma ditched us for some hooey phlooey fashion show supermodel charity event so C and I hit the seawall for junk food and miniature golf.

I even got to read Dr. Seuss for a bedtime story. What a deal!

Who is this girl?

Who is this girl? She just showed up in my office this morning. There is a slight resemblance to our precious daughter, but it can't be her. This girl is all grown up. Signed, Confused Daddy

Mardi Gras 2012

Great time on the seawall today. Not a cloud in the sky. We loaded up on beads and danced along with the marching bands.

The zipline

Caroline recently read The Daring Book For Girls. She drew up plans and talked about building her very own zipline for weeks after reading the first chapter. This weekend she and the twins took off in the golf cart with their adventure packs and all the imagination and determination in the world.

Four hours later they came to get us at the house and led us to their creation. Three kids under 10 had built a zipline between two trees 25 feet apart eight feet in the air!

After a few knot tightnings and the addition of a pully, we had two hours of zipping fun with the dads loading and pulling them to the top for take off.

Winter meat

Caroline got up and went with me this morning. It was 32F at the house, on top of the hill. Our blind was down near the creek where it was prbably more like 27F.

Fortunately, we were able to shoot quickly and come home to warm up.

Winter fishing

Last week I got to take Marc Johnson offshore. Our old neighbor Daniel Pope came along as well.

We have to run about 70nm offshore before we can fish this time of year. With only 10 hours of sunlight, you don't get much actual fishing time. Still we made the most of it, with a couple of nice grouper, a ling, and several jack crevalle.
